Wide Receiver

Boom: Keenan Allen, LAC vs. OAK

What you’ve gotten out of Allen lately isn’t exactly what you had pictured when drafting/trading for him. After generating over 85 combined fantasy points in first three weeks of the season, he’s now fallen under the 10-point threshold in four of his last six games. While it’s been a less-than-ideal string of outcomes for the two-time Pro Bowler, he’s far too talented to keep producing at such a low level. Looking back at his matchups, Allen has endured a harsh schedule, one that’s included GB, CHI, TEN, PIT, and DEN.

Better days are ahead, and he’s got a fantastic shot to reestablish himself among the fantasy elites against Oakland. The Raiders’ offense has gained some steam in recent weeks, but it’s been a different story on the defensive side of things. They’ve been a doormat for opposing aerial-attacks, surrendering the most receiving yards per game by wideouts. Just last week, both Marvin Jones Jr. and Kenny Golladay erupted for over 120 yards apiece, making this a prime get-right spot for Allen.

Boom: Emmanuel Sanders, SF vs. SEA

It’s been just two games for him in the Bay Area, but Sanders appears to be loving his new team (and new quarterback). Jimmy Garoppolo finally got his no. 1 wide receiver, and he’s been using him to his full advantage. Last week, Sanders nabbed seven passes for a season-high 112 yards and a score. He’s now caught a touchdown in both games thus far with the Niners and has an excellent shot to continue that streak.

This game against the Seahawks figures to be a shootout. The 49ers defense is as strong as any in the league, but that hasn’t mattered for MVP candidate Russell Wilson. In order to keep up, San Fran should take advantage against Seattle’s suspect secondary that allowed Mike Evans and Chris Godwin a combined 241 yards in Week 9. Sanders is lighting it up in his new home and that should continue.

Bust: Tyler Boyd, CIN vs. BAL

Without A.J. Green on this field, Boyd has seen a massive target share in 2019, drawing over 10 looks per game. However, playing on an inept Cincinnati offense has put a cap on his ceiling. Now that Andy Dalton has been benched in favor of rookie QB Ryan Finley, there’s no telling the exact role that Boyd will have moving forward. Green’s return would help his case, as Boyd has a history of performing better when both are on the field.

It appeared that Green was set to make his debut this week, but a setback on Wednesday has further muddied the water in regards to his Week 10 status. Baltimore’s cornerback tandem of Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters are playing at a high level right now, and will make it a point of emphasis to remove Boyd from the game. Even so, I’m not willing to touch anyone on the Bengals’ offense at the moment.

Bust: A.J. Brown, TEN vs. KC

Last week, it was Brown’s teammate Corey Davis who made the BUST list, and that pick held true, as he went for only 8.8 fantasy points. Brown has been the more-productive receiver, leading the team in targets with Ryan Tannehill under center. The rookie is averaging a modest 11.1 fantasy points over his last three contests, but Tennessee’s run-first offense have made it tough for Brown to produce on an every-week basis.

Against the Chiefs, the Titans’ recipe for success will lay within their ground-game. Kansas City has been pulverized by running-backs, yielding a league-high 179.7 total yards to game to the position. Enter Derrick Henry, who should eat in this one. However, the same cannot be said for the team’s wideouts, as the Chiefs have been substantially better in that department, surrendering the sixth-fewest FPPG to opposing WRs.

Sleeper: DeVante Parker, MIA @ IND

Life has been easier for all Miami pass-catchers with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. It can easily be overseen playing on the 1-7 Dolphins, but Parker is quietly on a roll, scoring at least 11 fantasy points in each game since Week 4. The matchup here isn’t the greatest, but he’ll be leaned on even more now that rookie wideout Preston Williams is done for the year.
