The Art of War

The main event of this week’s edition of Dynamite features The Elite (Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page) taking on The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara).

Jericho taunts Omega to start off by tagging out before they can lock up. Guevara shows off some technical ability as he grapples with Omega and even attempts a quick pinfall. Omega starts to chop dow Guevara as Hangman slides in. Omega plants “The Spanish God” with a Kotaro Crusher and Hangman hits a running shooting star press.

Guevara gets caught in a fallaway slam by Hangman but slips away and tags in Jericho. Jericho doesn’t stay in long though as Hangman is on fire. Guevara and Omega get tagged back in as Omega hits Guevara with a solid elbow. Omega goes for You Can’t Escape but gets countered as Guevara starts throwing out rapid enzuigiris. Hager interjects himself while the ref isn’t looking as we go to another commercial.

Hangman is brawling with Jericho as we come back from break. Hangman takes out both his opponents and goes for the Deadeye but gets locked in a Liontamer by “Le Champion”. Hangman gets some separation and hits a moonsault to the outside and looks to be going for Buckshot but suddenly PAC appears and low-blows Hangman. Jericho capitalizes on this and hits the Judas Effect on a wounded Hangman to gain the pinfall victory for his team.

The Inner Circle start beating down on Hangman which brings out Cody, who wipes out Guevara and plants Jericho with a Cross Rhodes, due to MJF stopping Jericho from escaping. Cody poses with the AEW Championship but suddenly the camera cuts to Jon Moxley who is walking towards the ring with a barbed wire baseball bat.

Moxley and Omega, who pulled out his barbed wire broomstick, stare at each other in the ring until Proud and Powerful attack them from behind. This attack brings out The Young Bucks who blast their Full Gear opponents with superkicks. The brawl moves up to the stage as Moxley and Omega fight to the back and Nick Jackson hits a diving senton off the stage onto the brawling pit. The fight looks like it’s over but then both sides rush each other again as the show goes off the air.

This was a great main event with another solid brawl to end the show. The brawling until the show goes off the air is a little played out at this point in Dynamite‘s short history but it was a good way to gets fans hyped for The Elite’s upcoming matchups at Full Gear. Hopefully these kind of brawls start happening less frequently moving forward but until then fans can enjoy the madness of these two factions going to war.

Another great episode of Dynamite that showcased the women’s division well and raised the stakes for Full Gear in a bombastic fashion. Baltimore needs to prepare itself for a wild night come this Saturday.
