The Game of the Century between LSU and Alabama saw the Tigers strengthen their spot at the top while the Crimson Tide could see a bit of a drop.

The week started with craziness and ended with the same thing, and we got the game of the season along the way.

It was Alabama vs. LSU week and everyone’s sights were set on the big game at 3:30 p.m. ET, but there was also a noon game in the Big Ten that caught people’s attention and had major implications on the playoff race.

What game was that? Penn State traveled to Minnesota to face the Gophers in a battle of unbeatens and it could even be a matchup that happens once again in the Big Ten title game. The Gophers got the big win and improved to 9-0 on the season, proving to everyone that the undefeated start isn’t a fluke.

Alabama hosted LSU for the game of the season and the Crimson Tide found themselves down by 20 at halftime before mounting an incredible comeback. That fell just short as Joe Burrow and the Tigers escaped Tuscaloosa with a 46-41 win.

That will most definitely shake up the playoff’s top-four for Week 12, but what about the AP Top 25 which had Alabama at No. 2. There’s no doubt LSU will remain No. 1, even though Ohio State is the top team in the more important poll.

The rest of the night was void of major upsets even though Baylor nearly suffered one for the second week in a row. The undefeated Bears traveled to Fort Worth to face a tough TCU team and came away with a triple-overtime win. Has this shown that Matt Rhule has completely turned things around? The Bears are looking like the biggest threats to dethrone Oklahoma in the Big 12.

Speaking of the Sooners, they had no problem with an Iowa State team that had been on a tear before last week. Oklahoma is proving that it’s the best team in the conference, regardless of record. Still, there should be a playoff team from the Big 12 and it’ll come down to the Bears and Sooners.

In the ACC, we saw Wake Forest lose to a rejuvenated Virginia Tech team and Clemson dismantle NC State. So basically, it’s Clemson and everyone else — and the Tigers may get their bump back into the top four.

Lastly, the Pac-12 was quiet this week with both Utah and Oregon off and Arizona State’s quest to get back into the AP Top 25 at some point this season was derailed by USC in Tempe.

What could the AP Top 25 look like on Sunday afternoon when the Week 12 poll is released at 2 p.m. ET?
