The NBA presents the DFS/Fanduel community with a five-game slate of games for Veterans Day. Let’s take a look at the slate from a fantasy basketball perspective!

Before we get into the FanDuel player selections, we quickly wanted to make note of a few key injury updates that are relevant to today’s slate of games.

The Boston Celtics will play today for the first time since it was announced that Gordon Hayward would miss significant time due to a hand injury. Additionally, after missing time due to injury, Blake Griffin is expected back in the Pistons starting lineup today. Griffin is probable for today’s game versus Minnesota.

Now let’s shift our focus to the FanDuel player selections for today’s games.

Point Guards

Russell Westbrook-Houston Rockets $9,900

Westbrook arrives on the FanDuel slate at a rather high price. That is fine with me. Why, you may ask? He is worth every penny of his price.

Westbrooks draws a Pelicans team that is 30th in the league in fantasy points allowed per game to point guards. Clearly, that is not good.

Additionally, Westbrook’s recent quality of play is worth the price from a FanDuel perspective. Over his last two games, Russell is averaging a very impressive 33.65 FanDuel points a game. Westbrook should continue his outstanding play tonight. I would not be surprised if Russell had over 50 FanDuel points in this game.

Kemba Walker-Boston Celtics $9,000

Walker has been simply playing outstanding for the Celtics this season. Over his last last six games, Kemba is averaging of 44.1 FanDuel points a game. That is outstanding.

Let us not forget that the Celtics will be without Gordon Hayward tonight. Walker will benefit from Hayward’s absence on the court.

Shooting Guards

James Harden-Houston Rockets $12,000

Paying $12,000 is hard to do. However, even I will be playing him tonight.

Over his last three games, Harden is averaging a massive 69.2 FanDuel points a game. There is no case for not playing him tonight. Fade him at your own risk.

Fred VanVleet-Toronto Raptors $6,900

If you are looking for a value play for tonight’s slate, look no further, you have found your man in Fred VanVleet. Fred will continue to benefit from Kyle Lowry’s absence from Toronto’s lineup.

In his last game versus the Lakers, VanVleet played 39 minutes. He scored 23 points and added 10 rebounds. Expect his quality play to continue in tonight’s game.

Small Forwards

Kawhi Leonard-Los Angeles Clippers $10,500

The Clippers offense runs through Kawhi, plain and simple. If he is in the starting lineup tonight, he has to be in my lineup. Fading him is a mistake.

Over his last three games, Leonard is averaging 55 FanDuel points a game. Leonard also draws a Toronto team tonight that struggles against opposing small forwards.

Leonard will have another outstanding fantasy performance this evening.

Power Forward

Jason Tatum-Boston Celtics $8,100

Tatum has consistently been playing some quality basketball for the Celtics. Over his last two games, Tatum has averaged 41.85 FanDuel points per game.

Tonight, Jason should exceed his FanDuel points average over his last two games with Gordon Hayward out of the Celtics lineup. Tatum is a lock for all FanDuel lineups tonight.

Center

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz 8,300

Yes, Karl Anthony Towns is on the slate tonight. However, I am fading him. There is better value in Rudy Gobert.

Gobert draws a Golden State team that has struggled against the center position in 2019. The Warriors currently rank 26th in the league in average fantasy points allowed to the center position.

In his last four games, Gobert has averaged over 15 rebounds a game which is something you want to see from that position. Additionally, over that same four game span, Gobert has averaged over 12 points a game.

Good Luck! Enjoy tonight’s slate of NBA games.
