2020 NFL mock draft: Chargers find Philip Rivers’ replacement
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans went into their Week 10 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs as pretty big underdogs, as the Chiefs were getting back 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes under center. Well, it was the other team’s quarterback that was up for the challenge, as newly-minted starter Ryan Tannehill led the Titans to a season-defining victory.
There is no telling how this team will finish out their year, but one thing is for sure, head coach Mike Vrabel has them playing excellent football right now. With Tannehill looking like the player the Miami Dolphins hoped he would become, the Titans could actually pass on a signal-caller in this draft, and instead get him some weapons.
One wideout who should hear his name called early in the 2020 NFL Draft is Henry Ruggs III, and explosive player out of Alabama. Ruggs not only is a gamebreaker in the passing game, but he comes from a winning program, and those are the kind of players who can turn around a franchise that is looking to become a player in a tough AFC South for years to come.
The Philadelphia Eagles had the weekend off in Week 10, and for the time being, they are very much alive in the NFC East race. The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, so that was kind of like a win for the Eagles, who need to start playing more consistent football.
One area on this team that has really struggled this season is the secondary, and they would be wise to utilize one of their early draft picks in 2020 on the cornerback position. One player who has a first round grade on him is Kristian Fulton from LSU, who has helped the Tigers get to No. 1 in the country this season.
The Eagles have some young players on their defense, and in the secondary, so the unit as a whole should get better over the next couple of years. They have a franchise quarterback in Carson Wentz, and good weapons on offense, but if this defense cannot get it together, it will be hard for them to make a statement in the NFC this year.
