DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

With so many stars on the tail end of back to backs, we really have to pay attention to rest here. Damian Lillard isn’t usually a rest candidate, but he could be here with the giant numbers he is putting up. The Raptors double as a M*A*S*H* unit right now, so this would be as good a place to rest Dame as any. Even if he plays, there is a severe blowout risk in this one.

Because of that, it may be better to move down to Westbrook. The Clippers play good defense, so I view Russ as a more reliable target than Harden tonight. Neither are bad plays. The Rockets are going to have to win this game from the outside. I just like the price on Russ more.

The Wizards’ defensive rating with IT2 on the court is awful. Given the fact that he will play at least half the game, there is a lot of upside for Kemba Walker here. Walker is proving that he can still be an elite scorer while not the only option on the team. Maybe that limits his upside, but that also provides a stable floor. That’s something Kemba never had in Charlotte. I really like Kemba in this spot tonight if you’re willing to move out of the upper tier.

Honorable Mention:

Fred VanVleet had some struggles against the Clippers, but he still turned in a solid outing. The issue is that solid wont cut it anymore at his price range. The Blazers are a much easier matchup, but the upside on VanVleet is much lower with his salary this high. He’s not an autoplay anymore, especially with a guy like LouWill against the Rockets in the same range.

Is it possible that someone can be matchup proof as a rookie? Devonte Graham has lit up Boston, Indiana, New Orleans, and Philly in his last four games. Three of those four are in the top half of the league in guard defense. Memphis is still solid on the perimeter, but Graham is putting up numbers that are as good or better than VanVleet with much less fanfare.

Dark Horse:

It’s a revenge game for Isaiah Thomas against Boston, and he’s still a little hurt about how it ended there. The only question is whether Washington will give him the minutes needed to rack it up on his former team. Thomas started the last game against the Cavs, so he will have plenty of chances here. The price is right to take a shot as well.

The bottom of PG is a mess trying to sift through the Spurs guard rotation and the three headed point guard thing going on in Orlando. Derrick White appears to be the safer play, and I do like the matchup against Minnesota, but Dejounte Murray wont slump forever. There is risk in all of these guys. Mills, Forbes, Murray, White, MCW, Augustin, and Fultz. What a mess!
