DFS fantasy football start/sit advice for week 11 2019
Tight Ends
Start:
Hunter Henry (LAC) vs. KC
Henry has been sensational since coming back from the scary knee injury he suffered earlier this season. In fact, since Week 6, Henry has been the best tight end in fantasy. During this stretch, he has caught 29 passes on 40 targets for 358 yards, three touchdowns, and an average of 16.6 fantasy points per game. Also in this five-week span, Henry is tied with George Kittle for the most 20+ yard plays as well (5). The Chargers will be squaring off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night in Mexico City for what we hope to be quite an entertaining night. The Chiefs may have matched up pretty well against opposing tight ends so far this year, but Henry is playing at another level right now. I’m pretty excited to see what he does in this must-win game for Los Angeles Monday.
Jared Cook (NO) @ TB
Cook hasn’t had a very statistically sound season in 2019 which doesn’t come as much of a shock in my opinion. At the moment, he is averaging 8.2 fantasy points per game (16th), 5.3 targets per game (17th), and 34.6 receiving yards per game (24th) as well. Nothing all too spectacular for New Orleans’ tight end. This week in particular though could very well be a positive outlier for him. The Saints will be heading down to Florida to take on their division rivals in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a rather embarrassing performance in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons, the Saints will be wanting to make a big statement around the league that they are still a legitimate Super Bowl contender. The Buccaneers have one of the worst secondaries in the league this year and they have surrendered on average the second-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends (11.00). With the offense ready to make some serious noise against a vulnerable opponent, get ready to see some sparks fly for Cook.
Sit:
Kyle Rudolph (MIN) vs. DEN
Despite having a top-five fantasy performance last week against the Dallas Cowboys, I am not expecting Rudolph to yield similar results this time around. Had Rudolph not scored his two touchdowns, he would have been left with a forgettable 14 receiving yards on the day. It was a rather dismal outing as usual for him where he was very touchdown-dependent. Much like Eric Ebron on the Indianapolis Colts, Rudolph is only a useful fantasy option if he is scoring touchdowns which is extremely risky. The Denver Broncos are a very stingy defense towards tight ends as they have allowed the fifth-fewest number of receiving touchdowns to that position in 2019. The only true Minnesota Vikings player I can put my trust into fully is running back Dalvin Cook since he doesn’t have to rely on Kirk Cousins to throw him the ball. All of these factors make it unappealing to start Rudolph.
