DraftKings Showdown-Mid-Tier Options

Los Angeles Rams D/ST-$6,200

The Rams defense may be my favorite captain play this week. The Bears offense has been nothing short of terrible with Mitchell Trubisky under center this season. And with running back David Montgomery a game-time decision, things aren’t exactly looking up for the struggling Chicago offense.

The Rams defense has a ton of talent. It obviously all starts in the middle with Aaron Donald. He is a force in the run game and can get to the quarterback with ease. They have two talented young corners and are coming off of a 19.0 DraftKings points performance last week against the Steelers. I think this is either a blowout win by the Rams or a true defensive battle if Chicago can keep the Rams offense in check. Either way, the Rams defense is a great play for this game.

Tarik Cohen RB CHI-$5,000

As I mentioned, Bears running back David Montgomery is listed as questionable with an ankle injury and will be a game-time decision. If he doesn’t play or is limited in any way, Tarik Cohen wil certainly have an increased role in the Bears offense.

While Cohen operates primarily as a receiver out of the backfield, he showed last year that he is capable of running between the tackles as well. Even in Montgomery does play, I think the way the game plays out will put Cohen on the field more anyway, with the Bears trailing and trying to throw the ball to come from behind.

Taylor Gabriel WR CHI-$6,600

Taylor Gabriel has been pretty decent in his last three games. Over that stretch, Gabriel increased his point total each game going from 9.3 to 9.9 to 13.8 DraftKings points a week ago. If Ramsey is able to slow down Robinson, Gabriel may be the only option for Trubisky to throw to down the field. While the Rams secondary is good across the board, this may be the matchup for the Bears to try to exploit.
