While New Jersey Devils fans hold their breath for Taylor Hall‘s future with the team, see five possible trade destinations for the former MVP.

New Jersey Devils’ forward Taylor Hall didn’t appreciate the team’s fans booing earlier this season.

While the 2010 No. 1 overall draft-pick still dons a Devils’ sweater, there’s a chance Hall could hear louder boos and jeers from Jersey’s fans as early January 2020.

Fans were nervous after No. 9 for the red and black didn’t receive a contract extension this offseason, and now fans are more nervous that he’ll leave via unrestricted free agency on July 1.

If the Devils don’t trade or re-sign the 2018 Hart Trophy winner, the chances are he’ll join a class of other former and notable New Jersey skaters who arguably should have been dealt prior to July 1 – when they walked leaving the Devils twiddling their thumbs.

However, perhaps this time around it’s different with a new regime in the front office.

The speculation is high for this potential blockbuster trade, so FanSided takes a look at five teams that Hall could be traded to this season.

5. Buffalo Sabres

It might seem like a stretch at first, and they don’t offer as much appeal as some higher profile teams on this list.

However, the Sabres need a skater such as Taylor Hall if Buffalo finally wants to take a step towards being a Cup contender.

The foundation has been established, and now it’s time to start building more to it. Buffalo could send New Jersey immediate players or prospects, and the Sabres have future draft picks they can part ways with.
