2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa falls in the first round
By Brad Weiss
The Baltimore Ravens may be the best team in the AFC right now, as they are playing phenomenal defense, and getting an MVP season from quarterback Lamar Jackson. Once considered a wide receiver at the NFL level, Jackson is getting it done with his arm, and his legs, and has the Ravens in contention for a long playoff run.
Of course, every team can get better, and for the Ravens, they still need to figure out a way to replace C.J. Mosley, who signed with the New York Jets this offseason. While he has not played this season due to a torn ACL, Dylan Moses from Alabama would be the perfect player to take Mosley spot for the long-term.
If he was healthy, we would be talking about Moses going in the first half of the first round, and the Ravens have taken chances on players before. This is a team that is stellar right now, and still building for the future, where they will look to be the kings of the AFC North for years to come.
When Drew Brees missed a ton of games due to a thumb injury, former Pro Bowl quarterback Teddy Bridgewater stepped in and the New Orleans Saints offense did not miss a beat. Remember, not only is Bridgewater only 27, but he is a former Rookie of the Year, and has been a tremendous asset to this team as Brees’ backup.
While Bridgewater was fantastic in relief of Brees, there is no way he comes back as a backup in 2020, as he showed he is a legitimate starter in this league. Jake Fromm would be a guy who could be groomed behind Brees for a year or two, before taking over as the starter in New Orleans moving forward.
New Orleans has an outstanding defense this season, and have built this roster up in a way that they should be good for a very long time. Nobody knows how much time Brees has left, but he has been a bit more injury-prone in recent seasons, and the time may be coming when the organization finally names a successor.
