DraftKings college football quarterback picks November 20

Top Tier:

With Guadagni out, I was still surprised to see Eli Peters as the highest priced quarterback. We wont be getting him on the cheap this week! Peters had a nice game last week, but this Buffalo pass defense is very good. They have only allowed 202.2 passing yards per game. Peters isn’t much of a runner either, so there’s no hidden value. That said, Buffalo’s run defense is superb. Toledo is going to have to throw to stay in this one.

Middle Tier:

Brett Gabbert had one of the best games of his young career against Bowling Green even though he only threw 15 passes. That highlights the risk and reward tonight. Akron is every bit as bad as the Falcons. Actually, their pass defense is much worse. I expect another strong game from Gabbert even if he doesn’t have a ton of attempts.

Bargain Shoppers:

It was a valiant effort for Kato Nelson that turned into a productive game for him from a fantasy perspective. If you can call a 28 point loss valiant. At any rate, Nelson had a season high in yards with 288 against the Eagles last week. You can bet Akron will have to throw again trying to keep up with Miami. They wont, but it should mean another productive night for Nelson.

Last and maybe least is Kyle Vantrease. It’s not that Vantrease isn’t a decent quarterback. Okay, maybe some of it is. Still, Toledo is allowing 266.3 passing yards per game. The only issue is that Buffalo rarely needs to throw. They play really good defense and run the ball very well. Vantrease isn’t putting up big yardage numbers, but he has at least two touchdowns in each of the last three games. Three of those are rushing scores. That gives him a nice little value boost.
