NBA DraftKings – top valued power forwards

Marvin Williams versus Brooklyn Nets ($4,000)

For some reason I have a weird attraction to playing Charlotte Hornets players. It may be due to their low price. Usually they don’t have the highest ceiling and the same could be said for Marvin Williams. He is currently averaging just 13.5 fantasy points per game but he has actually exceeded value in his past three games. In those three games he has scored 17.5, 25.8, and 26 fantasy points.

In come the Brooklyn Nets. They are currently allowing opposing power forwards to average just 21 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists per game. They also give up just 46.24 fantasy points to the position. Even at the $4,000 salary price tag, I would have very little exposure to Marvin Williams as the Hornets are still figuring out their team.

Moe Harkless versus Boston Celtics ($4,000)

At the same price but a much better match up comes Moe Harkless. He gets to face a Boston Celtics defense that is currently allowing opposing power forwards to average 53.40 fantasy points per game. They also allow them to dominate on the boards plus give up a double double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists per game.

Harkless on the offensive side of things, is having a up and down start to his season. He currently holds a usage rate of 12% while averaging 22 minutes per game with six points, three rebounds and one assist. He is coming off of an underwhelming performance with 15.8 fantasy points versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before that game he did put up 24.8 fantasy points versus the young Atlanta Hawks. With Harkless we don’t see the consistency that we would want for a value play, but with a matchup like this, he may just be able to exceed his value easily.
