NBA DraftKings – top valued centers
Maxi Kleber versus Dallas Mavericks ($4,400)
Another risky play on the slate is Maxi Kleber. Not due to his matchup on paper, but because of his teammate Dwight Powell. The minutes have not been consistent for either one and it looks to be an “any given night” situation on who will benefit more. So watch the news up until lock here also. Kleber is currently averaging 21.5 fantasy points per game while averaging 28 minutes per game. He is also averaging 9 points, six rebounds with one assist while holding a 12% usage rating.
But once again he is up against the Golden State Warriors, who are just bad defensively. They are allowing opposing centers to average 60.56 fantasy points per game, the fourth most in the NBA. They are also allowing opposing centers to average 26 points, 11 rebounds and three assists per game. It’s difficult to pay down at center when it’s an eleven game slate, so take the chance at your own risk.
Bobby Portis versus Philadelphia 76ers ($4,400)
Lets keep the risky center plays rolling with Bobby Portis as the New York Knicks face the Philadelphia 76ers. Portis is averaging nine points, seven rebounds and one assist while holding a usage rating of 20%. He’s averaging a fantasy point per minute while averaging 23 minutes per game. He has put back to back 20 fantasy games against the Charlotte Hornets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 76ers have enough big men inside the paint to contain centers and the stat line shows. They are currently allowing opposing centers to average 23 points, 13 rebounds and four assists per game. They are also allowing them to average 52.21 fantasy points. We know the Knicks aren’t a great team by any means, but they do have the salary relief that we look for when building line ups and Bobby Portis is one to target.
