Duds

Russell Westbrook (at LAC – $8,400 on DK; $9,000 on FD): Westbrook always has a high ceiling but the Clippers defense is going to be rough on him. And with a lack of a reliable shot, he’s probably going to struggle to find space. And even though he can secure a triple double, it’s not happening quite as much this season due to the Rockets offense. He’s too risky on a night with so much top talent.

Blake Griffin (vs ATL – $7,700 on DK; $7,700 on FD): It still isn’t happening for Blake Griffin. The matchup is good as the Hawks allow plenty of DFS points, though they are good against the position. But Griffin hasn’t proven any kind of consistency. A guy like Capela is a better option with higher upside and a better matchup.

DeMar DeRozan (at PHI – $7,700 on DK; $7,800 on FD): DeRozan can go off at any time but something isn’t right in San Antonio. And against this Philadelphia squad, I don’t see things getting fixed. The 76ers are fantastic against the position and all signs point to it being a rough outing for DeRozan and the Spurs offense.

Jamal Murray (vs BOS – $7,200 on DK; $7,000 on FD): Another guy who struggles to find consistency. Murray is one of the biggest boom players in the league, but he also has a high bust rate. And given how good the Celtics are against the position, it looks like it could be tough sledding for Murray on Friday. There are better options below him.

Dennis Schroder (vs LAL – $5,500 on DK; $5,400 on FD): Schroder is going to get a lot of love because he’s coming off two strong games against good teams. But don’t fall for it. The Schroder Coaster is no joke and two great games usually leads to a game where he is completely invisible. There are far better value options with better matchups at a cheaper cost.
