45. . Defensive Tackle. Denver Broncos. Derrick Brown. 5. player

This pick may seem like a surprise for the Broncos’ faithful, who would be hoping to see Denver draft a quarterback to fill the gaping hole at the position since Peyton Manning retired in 2015. John Elway did just draft Drew Lock a year ago, however, and it’s hard to believe he would give up on Lock without getting a chance to see him play for an extended period of time.

That puts the Broncos into the best player available category, and they could snag a pretty darn good defensive tackle here in Auburn’s Derrick Brown. Broncos’ head coach Vic Fangio is a defensive-minded coach, and he would love the opportunity to add a big body in the middle of his defensive line to make life easier for edge rushers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.

player. 44. . Outside Linebacker. Atlanta Falcons. Isaiah Simmons. 6

The 2019 season has been a major disappointment for the Falcons, who were expected to contend for the playoffs but are now on pace to land the sixth pick in the draft. The offense has plenty of talent, so expect the Falcons to try and spend this pick on a defensive playmaker.

It’s uncertain who Atlanta’s coach will be with Dan Quinn on the hot seat, so we’ll give them Isaiah Simmons, an intriguing prospect who has the ability to affect the game from multiple positions. While Simmons isn’t the pure pass-rusher this defense needs, he does offer the potential to create matchup problems with his ability to play both the run and pass.
