2. Will Muschamp – South Carolina

For the first time in his tenure at South Carolina, Will Muschamp won’t be coaching his program in a bowl game. It’s been a disappointing season for the Gamecocks, albeit one huge upset over Georgia in Athens.

Unfortunately, the win over Georgia did nothing for the program in the games since. South Carolina has lost four of five games to drop to 4-7 and their fate has been sealed.

With a contest against third-ranked Clemson to close the season, you can almost guarantee that the Gamecocks are going to finish the season 4-8. Considering two of his three seasons the Gamecocks played in a bowl saw records of 6-7 and 7-6, Muschamp’s tenure hasn’t been exactly an exciting one either.

The high point was a 9-4 season in 2017. We’re two seasons removed from that point and things could be turning south in a hurry on the Muschamp regime.

If he gets a fifth season with the Gamecocks, he’s certainly going to have to save his best for next season to keep his job. It’s certainly not the worst four-year stretch for a coach, let alone one in the SEC, but it hasn’t been spectacular or memorable either.
