Night DraftKings college football quarterback picks November 30

Top Tier:

I don’t care how much they charge for Jalen Hurts. I just can’t bring myself to not use him. Will someone outscore him? Maybe. Joe Burrow is a strong play against Texas A&M as well. However, LSU has helpers. Hurts is basically the Oklahoma running game as well. For cash games there is no substitute.

On this slate we at least have to consider Malcolm Perry as an alternate. Houston has been burned more by the pass than the run, but it’s going to be Perry’s running ability, and his penchant for calling his own number in the red zone, that could make him the highest overall scorer on the slate. You can fit both Perry and Hurts in the same lineup, but it’s tough. You basically have to punt WR on a loaded slate. That may not be the best idea.

Middle Tier:

We look at the numbers that Brock Prudy has put up and think we have to use him, right? We don’t. Sam Howell may be a freshman, but he hasn’t played like one for a while. Only Duke and Clemson have held him under 20 DraftKings points since the first month. The Wolfpack certainly aren’t capable of holding him. Howell racked up 24.58 on a good Pitt defense. He’s an excellent superflex play against NC State.

The Colorado defense did a number on Washington last week, but I wouldn’t count on that happening again. Tyler Huntley has been mostly efficient lately, content to let the skill players around him do the work. This Utah offense is the most balanced we’ve seen since Urban Meyer coached there. Despite the great matchup, I think we can do better.

Bargain Shoppers:

This is not the same Skylar Thompson that we saw last year. He still struggles with efficiency, but not having to look over his shoulder at Alex Delton has done wonders for him. The Wildcats offense is no longer predicated on him running. Thompson throws more, and more often than not, throws well. He’s a strong option against an Iowa State defense that has been gouged in the passing game.

The way to get to the Florida State defense is to take the top off of them. Kyle Trask has the arm to do it. He has thrown for at least 200 yards in every game that he’s started against FBS opponents. He’s a very good option on the cheap tonight.

Dru Brown‘s price is a joke. Sure, the Cowboys are content to use him as a game manager and run Hubbard 30 times. That’s not going to fly in Bedlam. Oklahoma’s run defense has been really good. The pass defense? Not so much. Brown could have a monster game for the price tonight. I will have him in every lineup. I’m not a homer. I’m out here to win!
