17. Winnipeg Jets

While Tampa’s alternate sweaters would look great skating around a collegiate arena, so would the Winnipeg Jets’ third jerseys that were introduced last season.

They’re not terrible and in large part, because the Jets arguably have the best color scheme in the NHL; but it’s the word-mark logo that ruins the sweater. You’d almost rather see Winnipeg use its primary logo as the main crest on this jersey, no?

When the Jets first took to the ice with these powder blue uniforms – most fans were probably confused as to which team was actually playing; “Did Pittsburgh bring back its blue jerseys?”

This jersey is also ranked on the bottom half because the Jets’ home and away jerseys are already in the top half for the league. Don’t forget about how awesome the team’s Heritage Classic sweaters were, either.

Winnipeg’s outdoor jerseys were a modernized version of the original Winnipeg Jets’ sweaters and those turned out to be accepted by just about every sports fan – not just hockey fans.

This hockey enthusiast understood the direction Winnipeg went with its third jersey, but is it too much powder blue? The Jets aren’t branded in that sense, and chances are won’t revert back to something too similar to their former roots in the Atlanta Thrashers.

These more than likely won’t last another season, but the expectations for their sweater and logo designs were set sky high years back by the original Jets from Winnipeg.
