NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds December 2
Duds
Draymond Green (at ATL – $6,500 on DK; $6,600 on FD): My complaint with Draymond remains the same. He doesn’t give you enough for the salary he’s at. The matchup is a good one, but his lack of scoring and the lack of scoring around him makes him tough to trust, no matter the matchup. It’s also a back to back for the Warriors.
Donovan Mitchell (at PHI – $7,800 on DK; $8,500 on FD): I’m willing to throw out Sunday’s debacle in Toronto and trust that Utah will be better on Monday. But this is a tough match to walk into after such a horrendous outing. And if they aren’t playing with confidence, Philly is the wrong team to play on the road. Mitchell can go off, but there are some red flags.
Julius Randle (at MIL – $7,300 on DK; $7,500 on FD): The Bucks are not good against the position, which does help Randle’s cause. But there are better options below him. And with the Knicks being on a back to back against a team that is good overall, despite the positional ranking, Randle isn’t a risk worth taking.
Ricky Rubio (at CHA – $6,700 on DK; $6,900 on FD): As much as I love this matchup for both teams, I don’t have a great feeling about Rubio. This feels more like Devin Booker and Kelly Oubre make a big impact while Rubio doesn’t do quite as much. He’ll probably be around value, but there are guys around or below him that will give you more.
Richaun Holmes (vs CHI – $6,500 on DK; $6,400 on FD): Holmes has been good since moving into a starting position and the ceiling is there. The Bulls aren’t great against the position, which also helps his cause. But the price feels a tad too high in a game that I don’t have a good read on.
