Cornerback. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trevon Diggs. 13. player. 48.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to play this past weekend, going into Jacksonville and winning an All-Florida battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Buccaneers defense stymied the Jaguars all game long, as Nick Foles played so poorly that the team went back to Gardner Minshew for the remainder of the season.

When thinking of the Bucs roster moving forward, they have some serious issues in their defensive backfield. More specifically, the Buccaneers need help at the cornerback position, and that is where they should focus their first round draft pick next April.

Trevon Diggs from Alabama is one of the better cover corners in this draft class, and after what happened with former first rounder Vernon Hargreaves, it is time to hit the reset button at the position group. Diggs comes from a winning program, and has an NFL pedigree, as his brother is Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

14. player. 87. . Defensive Tackle. Carolina Panthers. Derrick Brown

The Carolina Panthers suffered an embarrassing loss at the hands of the lowly Washington Redskins this past weekend, and you have to think their chances of making the playoffs is dwindling. Carolina made the move to Kyle Allen at quarterback this season after Cam Newton was injured, and he played well, so they should not be in the market for a new signal-caller next April.

With the No. 14 overall pick in the first round, the Panthers should look to get better in the interior of their defensive line, adding a player like Derrick Brown from Auburn. Brown is a mountain of a man for the Auburn Tigers, and is a big reason why they were able to come away with a victory over the favored Alabama Crimson Tide this past weekend.

Brown would be a perfect compliment to Brian Brown in the Panthers 3-4 defense, giving the Panthers a dominant defensive line in a very tough NFC South division. Carolina is building up a nice roster, and has a solid head coach in Ron Rivera, but until they can shore up the issues on defense, they won’t be contenders in the division any time soon.
