DraftKings college football showdown picks December 6

I’m still not sure that I want Herbert as a flex option. Number one, Herbert will be the highest owned player on the slate behind Moss. If he fails, you’re way ahead of the curve. There’s no risk to using Herbert, but I don’t see the massive upside either. Herbert hasn’t had more than 30 DraftKings points against any FBS opponents besides Nevada and that was in week 2.

I would much rather use Huntley and Moss to cover all the Utah bases. I also want to make sure to have Johnny Johnson. That leaves us with $5,650 to spend on the last two flex slots with Kuithe as the captain. Otherwise, we have $4,550 to spend per flex slot. We can make that work so long as we use one of the kickers. Or do we have to? There may be other value lurking so we don’t have to resort to the volatility of the kicker.

Cyrus Habibi-Likio only has 15 carries over the last three games behind Travis Dye and Verdell, but he has vultured three touchdowns. Oregon has gone to Cyrus as a red zone play more than anyone else in that span. For just $4,600, he could be worth a dart throw. Then the last flex slot is down to Utah receivers Demari Simpkins or Jaylen Dixon.

If you are using Kuithe at captain you don’t have to take a chance on Cyrus. This would be the play to go with a kicker. Why? Using Habibi-Likio leaves you in no man’s land between Oregon’s backup QB and Jaylon Redd. If you use either kicker, you can afford Redd.

If you have no issues with using Habibi-Likio, the best thing to do is probably pay up for Moss or Huntley at captain and use Simpkins or Dixon. If you don’t want Cyrus and are okay using a kicker, Kuithe is fine as the captain if you can’t live without Redd.

If you do decide that Herbert is for you as a flex option, you have to be okay using him over either Huntley, Johnson, or Moss.
