Duds

Devin Booker (at NO – $7,500 on DK; $8,100 on FD): The matchup is good for Booker, which is the good news. The bad news Is that he hasn’t been delivering even against good matchups. His ceiling is high but you need something more trustworthy. On a slow night, you can get away with taking the risk given the matchup, but there are more red flags than green ones.

Nikola Jokic (at NY – $8,500 on DK; $8,900 on FD): Jokic is basically in the same position as Booker. The matchup is excellent and he’ll probably deliver what you need him to deliver, but the inconsistencies are too glaring right now. Once again, on a slow night and given the matchup, he’s a risk worth taking. But there is more guaranteed value out there.

Russell Westbrook (at TOR – $8,800 on DK; $9,200 on FD): Every time I list Westbrook as a Dud, he outperforms his previous outings. So, is this a reverse jinx? Maybe. Westbrook is all over the place and while he’ll get numbers, the inconsistencies are worrying and his ceiling certainly isn’t as high as it’s been in past seasons when he got a triple double every night.

Kyle Lowry (vs HOU – $7,000 on DK; $8,000 on FD): Lowry looked good in his return and his salary has dropped, which is the good news. My fear with Lowry is just that I’m higher on VanVleet and Siakam, which means Lowry will probably be the one to suffer.
