4. Philadelphia Eagles

It’s officially crisis time in the city of brotherly love with the Philadelphia Eagles in free fall. The Eagles have dropped three straight games, with the latest being a brutal loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The contest in Miami was an embarrassment for the Eagles, who watched the Dolphins move the ball at will and complete the NFL’s craziest touchdown of the year with their punter shoveling a touchdown pass to the kicker. Ryan Fitzpatrick also shredded the Eagles’ defense, completing 27-of-39 for 365 yards with three touchdowns against just one interception.

The only positive that for the Eagles is that they didn’t lose any ground in the NFC East since the Dallas Cowboys have been just as inept. The Eagles also have the schedule advantage down the stretch, and while it didn’t do them any good last week they should be able to get back on track against the New York Giants.

This is the first matchup of the season between the NFC East rivals, and the Giants enter the contest on an eight-game losing streak, the longest in the league. New York simply can’t do anything right, and head coach Pat Shurmur said after another poor showing yesterday that his team would be able to win games “someday”.

That shouldn’t happen this week with the Eagles back at home playing against a team that is completely lost on both sides of the ball. If the Eagles can’t pick up a win here, they definitely have more issues than playoff positioning.
