5 Premier League predictions: Rashford scores as Manchester derby ends in draw
1. Sheffield United win at Norwich
Sunday also sees two of this season’s promoted sides battle when Norwich host Sheffield United at Carrow Road. Norwich were sensational in the Championship last season and United were a strong second-best to the Canaries.
This season those roles have changed completely. Sheffield United have been brilliant in the Premier League whilst Norwich have struggled to compete with the step up in quality. In their Championship match-ups last season United won one encounter and managed a draw away from home.
Chris Wilder will be hoping for something similar this weekend and perhaps more considering his side’s current form. United are currently 9th in the table but only sit two points back from fifth-placed Wolves. Norwich are in a relegation battle and a loss away at fellow strugglers, Southampton, piled the pressure on the Canaries manager, Daniel Farke.
Farke appears to have the backing of the club and fans but he needs to find a way to make his team more consistent. The Canaries can be brilliant for periods of matches but they struggle to produce a solid 90-minute performance.
The same can be said for Sheffield United too but they’ve consistently picked up points this season despite not always playing to their full potential. What’s even more impressive for the Blades is that they’ve not lost away from home yet. That is the kind of form you would expect of a Premier League winner, never mind a newly-promoted side.
That mentality that Chris Wilder’s side have on the road should mean they have too much for Norwich in this game. The Blades will be stronger on the pitch mentally and physically and come away from Carrow Road with all three points after a 2-0 win.
