. Tight End. New England Patriots. Albert Okwuegbunam. 29. player. 47

The New England Patriots are in another spygate scenario, and it remains to be seen if, or how the league will come down on them this time. As it stands, the Patriots hold the No. 29 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, but if they are found guilty of any wrongdoing, this selection could be gone.

If they do hold the selection, they should bring in a  tight end, and Albert Okwuegbunam from Missouri is one of the few who has a first round grade. He is a solid blocker, can get open over the middle, and has soft hands. He would be a great get for an organization still reeling from Rob Gronkowski’s retirement.

While nobody is saying Okwuegbunam will be Gronk, or even close to Gronk,  the fact remains that this team needs a pass-catching tight end in this offense. The Patriots will be one of the last teams standing, and picking late in round one, so he makes a lot of sense for their offense here.

15. . Quarterback. New Orleans Saints. Jacob Eason. 30. player

The New Orleans Saints suffered a tough loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers this past weekend, in a matchup that could be a preview of this year’s NFC title game. Drew Brees was lights out in the game, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns, as he continues to defy Father Time.

While Brees is still one of the better quarterbacks in the league, nobody plays forever, and the organization has to start thinking about life after he retires. Picking this late in round one next April, they could decide on one of the fringe first-round talents in this draft class, and Jacob Eason would be a nice get at No. 30 overall.

Eason has the prototypical NFL body, and has a rocket for a right arm. He made the move from Georgia to Washington this past season, and helped lead the Huskies to another Apple Cup victory. He would be entering a perfect situation in New Orleans, and with how good Teddy Bridgewater looked this season, his time as the backup in the Bayou is likely over.
