2. Dallas Cowboys

This is the third consecutive week that the Dallas Cowboys have made the list of teams that most need a win, and they failed to come through on their first two attempts. The third time may well be the charm for the Cowboys, who desperately need to get back on track.

The sky is falling for America’s team, which has dropped four of its last five games to drop below .500 for the first time this season. The only win the Cowboys picked up in this stretch came against the Detroit Lions, who have been in free fall since Matthew Stafford got hurt.

Last Thursday’s performance in Chicago was ugly as the Cowboys didn’t even bother to show up for the game. The Cowboys’ offense struggled to move the ball and the defense got pushed around by Mitchell Trubisky, leading to increased calls for Jason Garrett’s job.

Jerry Jones continues to stubbornly stand by Garrett, who can reward his owner’s faith with a win over the red-hot Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The game is huge for both teams, but Dallas needs a win simply to restore a sense of sanity in Jerry World.

The reason why the Cowboys aren’t at the top of the list is that they are guaranteed a shot at a division title in Week 16, when they travel to Philadelphia to try and complete a season sweep of the Eagles. Dallas certainly doesn’t want to go into that contest on a four game losing streak, but it has at least a slight margin for error.
