DraftKings NBA picks December 18: To Beal or not to Beal
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Centers:
Best Bets:
Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,700): If Towns plays, he’s worth a look. If not, it’s going to be chaos up front for Minnesota. There’s plenty of value out there to run Towns without whoever you want, so I almost hope he plays. KAT has seen tough games against Utah and the Lakers recently, but New Orleans doesn’t have anyone that can stop him. There’s really good potential if he plays.
Hassan Whiteside ($8,500): The Warriors aren’t particularly weak against the position, but Whiteside put up 40.75 on the Warriors in just 28 minutes in the first meeting. The Blazers are a bit of a different team since that first meeting, but not to the point where Whiteside isn’t a huge factor. He’s going to have plenty of opportunities here again.
Honorable Mention:
Jonas Valanciunas ($6,300): Jonas ravaged the Heat for 41 DraftKings points in just 25 minutes on Monday. His minutes have fluctuated as the Grizzlies try to see what they have with all of their youngsters. Jackson is staying out of foul trouble for now, but that could change against the Thunder. Both Jackson and Jonas are strong plays, but they do cannibalize each other’s value.
Wendell Carter ($6,000): Did I mention that the Wizards are ravaged with injuries up front? Carter has at least 25 DraftKings points in nine of the last ten games. His minutes have taken a huge leap over the last couple of games. If he plays 35 minutes in this one instead of 25, we could see Carter break 40 DraftKings points with ease.
Dark Horses:
Cody Zeller ($5,700): It was another monster game for Zeller as the Hornets continue to prove that Zeller and Bismack can co-exist. Zeller has 78.25 DraftKings points over the last two games and has only been under 25 once in December. Zeller’s price is way off right now. Use him and enjoy the value.
Bismack Biyombo ($5,000): Biyombo has 92.5 DraftKings points over the last three games. Graham’s dip in production isn’t a coincidence. Zeller and Biyombo have been huge of late and have given Charlotte a balanced attack that they haven’t really had this year. Eventually someone will figure it out, but It wont be Cleveland.
