NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for December 18
NBA DFS Scrubs
Josh Hart (at MIN – $5,300 on DK; $4,800 on FD): It’s a back-to-back for New Orleans and they went to OT. But Minnesota doesn’t exactly present the toughest of challenges and Hart has shown some consistency in recent games. He certainly gets the minutes and opportunities, which is always a good sign. He’s at a great salary for the kind of minutes he gets and has a good ceiling with his scoring.
Lauri Markkanen (at WAS – $5,900 on DK; $6,300 on FD): This largely depends on the status of LaVine. If LaVine doesn’t play, Markkanen will be in a great position. Even if LaVine does play, the matchup is still too good to pass up on. The Wizards are terrible against the position and this game should have plenty of offense given how both teams have looked on defense this season. Markkanen can be inconsistent, but there’s plenty to like and even more to like if LaVine is out.
Jae Crowder (at OKC – $5,200 on DK; $4,700 on FD): Crowder was down against Miami but trust him to bounce back in this one. The Thunder are weak against the position and when he is able to get minutes against them in the past, he typically plays very well. He’s the type of role player who is going to hurt them because he’s able to do a bit of everything. And at his salary, he’s not going to hurt you too much.
Tim Hardaway Jr (vs BOS – $5,100 on DK; $5,100 on FD): Hardaway Jr was a dud against the Bucks as Seth Curry carried part of the scoring load left by Luka. But give Hardaway Jr this game to redeem himself. His salary remains at a good level thanks to the Bucks game and he’s not going to lack for shots with Luka out of the lineup.
Tristan Thompson (vs CHA – $5,900 on DK; $7,100 on FD): The price is high on FD, but it’s premium at DraftKings. This should be an easy double-double game and then some for Thompson given the matchup. The Hornets are weak against the position and Thompson has proven that he can have big outings. Wednesday night should certainly be one of them.
