Joe Montana Division

4. Russell Wilson (LW: 3)

Wilson moves down a spot, but mostly because Drew Brees was simply brilliant. Despite playing in a run-first offense, Wilson continues to put up quality numbers. The veteran averages 8.3 YPA with 28 touchdowns against five interceptions. Seattle is currently the NFC’s top seed, and it’s due in large part to Wilson.

3. Drew Brees (LW: 4)

Brees had a damn good Monday night. Broke Peyton Manning’s career record for touchdown passes, and did so while completing 29-of-30 throws with four scores in a 34-7 win. First-ballot Hall of Famer when the time comes.

2. Lamar Jackson (LW: 2)

Five more touchdowns on Thursday night, giving him 40 for the season. Jackson is on pace for more than 4,600 total yards from scrimmage this year alongside 46 touchdowns. It’s one of the best seasons we’ve ever seen from a quarterback, factoring in all aspects of Jackson’s brilliance.

1. Patrick Mahomes (LW: 1)

Mahomes played in a full-on blizzard against the Broncos, and completed 27-of-34 attempts for 340 yards with two touchdowns. Despite missing two games and most of a third, Mahomes ranks eighth in passing yards (3,606) and 11th in touchdown passes (23). He’s also 10th in completion percentage (65.5) despite consistently throwing downfield, reflected in his 8.5 YPA, best of anybody with 12+ starts. He’s the best quarterback in football, and there’s no real argument.
