4. Chris Wood bags double as Burnley win at Bournemouth

Bournemouth host Burnley at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday in a game that is difficult to call. Both sides haven’t been at their best this season but will definitely fancy their chances of taking something from this game.

Burnley had a good home win over a resilient Newcastle last weekend while Bournemouth kicked their poor form to the curb with a shock 1-0 win away at Chelsea. The Cherries’ home and away form is very similar which makes the game even harder to call as it’s uncertain which version of Bournemouth will turn up.

Eddie Howe’s side can be fast, exciting and strong in attack one weekend and then the next they look like they don’t have an idea of how to put the ball in the back of the net. Their big win last weekend should provide them with lots of confidence though and encourage them to keep going if they’re struggling to break Burnley down.

Burnley’s last away trip was a 5-0 demolition at Tottenham but in fairness to the Clarets, they could have found the back of the net a couple of times themselves in that match. This is a much closer match-up too and it’s unlikely that Bournemouth will be able to brush them aside.

Sean Dyche’s side have also won at the Vitality in each of the past two seasons which should give them more confidence coming into this game. It may sound surprising but this is a match that normally provides plenty of goals too. Since Bournemouth were promoted to the Premier League in 2016, the sides have produced 22 goals in just six games.

That stat will only increase this weekend as Burnley come out on top in an entertaining game. Chris Wood will open the scoring before Josh King equalizes for the home side. Wood will find the net again before Jeff Hendrick rounds off the scoring in a 3-1 win for the Clarets.
