Buy Low on Dejounte Murray

By the time you read this, it may already be too late.

I was fortunate enough to snag him for PJ Washington shortly before he went on his recent 4 game run (14th ranked player) but he has slowly been trending up over the season. Murray has gone from being ranked 122, to 111, then to 90th, and most recently to 82nd. His minutes may still be eradicate, and Coach Popovich may still tinker with the match ups and DJ White’s playing time.

After recently hinting that Murray is no longer on a minutes limit, Popovich has gone to play him 32, 17, 31, 29, and 27 minutes in the subsequent games. Now that is only 5 games in, but the reward could be substantial moving forward, particularly with the Spurs at 11-16 in the West (good for 10th seed), and with rumours surrounding the potential trade destinations of DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge.

The 23 year old is averaging 10.3 PPG, 6 RPG, 4.1 APG, 1.8 SPG, 0.3 BPG, and 2.2 TPG on 48% shooting from the field, and 78% shooting from the line. He still has a ways to go to improve his 3 point shooting (0.3 3PG) but if your team is already strong in that category, or you are straight up punting it, he is “must get.”

Next. Three sell high candidates in fantasy basketball. dark

I would try and wait another few games of low playing time before sending out an offer, especially after Murray’s recent hot run, but you could probably trade away guys like PJ Washington, PJ Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, or Spencer Dinwiddie.
