NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for December 23

Duds

De’Aaron Fox (vs HOU – $6,400 on DK; $6,700 on FD): The salary on Fox isn’t too bad. But he’s on a slight minutes restriction coming off the injury and this isn’t the best matchup in the world for the Rockets. He’s also struggled against the Rockets throughout his career. He might not hurt you, but he’s also unlikely to give you the big game that you need out of him.

Draymond Green (vs MIN – $5,900 on DK; $6,700 on FD): The price on DraftKings isn’t too terrible but it’s a tad too high on FanDuel. It’s a good matchup for Draymond and the Warrios but my complaint with him is the same complaint I’ve had with him all season. He’s just not reliable as a scorer and the Warriors aren’t good enough to where he’s going to pick up enough assists. There’s no consistency and the ceiling definitely isn’t high enough.

Bam Adebayo (vs UTA – $8,700 on DK; $8,600 on FD): I love Adebayo and the Jazz are mediocre against the matchup. But I prefer Jimmy Butler to Adebayo in this matchup. They’re right around the same salary and I simply prefer Butler and his ability in this game. Adebayo is typically reliable and likely won’t hurt you if you do enough up taking him.

Serge Ibaka (at IND – $7,700 on DK; $7,900 on FD): It’s a back to back for both teams. The Raptors had to expend a lot of energy getting back against the Mavericks. And going up against the Pacers is no easy task. Ibaka wasn’t great against the Mavericks and this feels like an overall letdown game for the Raptors after their big comeback against the Mavericks.

Andre Drummond (vs PHI – $10,100 on DK; $9,400 on FD): Drummond always have big game potential with his scoring and rebounding, but Embiid has proven that he can give him fits and on such a big night, there is more guaranteed value over Drummond, especially at the price he’s at. The Sixers are a bit all over the place but this is a tough out for Drummond.
