Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert. 7. player. 13. . Quarterback

The Los Angeles Chargers played a “home” game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, but the crowd was heavily leaning in the Raiders favor. The fans got what they wanted, as the Raiders beat the Chargers 24-17, keeping their slim playoff hopes alive, and the Chargers were left with more questions about Philip Rivers.

The issue with Rivers this season has been the turnovers, and the time has come for the Chargers to start to consider life after him. With his contract expiring, and his advanced age, you can expect Los Angeles to try and get one of the premier quarterbacks in this draft class, and they land Justin Herbert at No. 7 overall.

Herbert will come into the NFL as arguably the most NFL-ready quarterback, after starting four years at Oregon. Remember, Chargers legend Dan Fouts also quarterback at Oregon before landing with the Bolts, and Herbert has all the talent to take the torch from not only Rivers, but Fouts as well.

Safety. Carolina Panthers. Grant Delpit. 8. player. 87.

The Carolina Panthers were absolutely embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts this past weekend, as rookie quarterback Wil Grier made his NFL debut. The Panthers have a serious issue when it comes to the quarterback position, as they have to consider bringing back Cam Newton as the starter, or sticking with either Kyle Allen or Grier in 2020.

Sure, the Panthers could try and trade up to get a quarterback next April, but they could also land an elite defensive player here at No. 8 overall. All season long, the Panthers have had major issues in the secondary, and they may want to bring in a player like Grant Delpit, the best safety in this draft class.

Of course, the Panthers need help at cornerback as well, but Delpit may be too hard to pass up with the No. 8 overall pick. This is a secondary that needs to start stacking talent, and in Delpit, they could have a guy that can team with Eric Reid next season to give Carolina a devastating tandem at the safety position.
