Edge. Atlanta Falcons. A.J. Epenesa. 13. player. 44.

The Atlanta Falcons have played a better brand of football in recent weeks, but they still have to be considered one of the bigger disappointments in the NFC this season. This is a team that is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, and their porous record could lead to the firing of head coach Dan Quinn this offseason.

Last offseason, the Falcons fired most of Quinn’s coaching staff, and he could be the final domino to fall once the season is over. Regardless of who the head coach is next season, this is a team that has to be better against the pass, and bringing in one of the elite edge rushers in this draft class makes sense next April.

Had Chase Young not been in this draft class, Epenesa would be the best edge rusher available, but he is also one heck of a consolation prize. In the NFC Scouth, you have to be able to get after the quarterback, and Epenesa can help the Falcons start to be better at that in 2020 and beyond.

Isaiah Simmons. 14. player. 28. . Linebacker/Safety. Las Vegas Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are still technically alive in the AFC Playoff race, this after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday, and getting a lot of help. In order for the Raiders to clinch the No. 6 seed in the AFC they have to beat the Denver Broncos on the road in Week 17, and then get losses from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

While the team is in “just win” mode, they also would like nothing more than to have the last Oakland Raiders team be a playoff team. This franchise will be moving to Las Vegas for the 2020 NFL season, and they certainly need to shore up some issues before they move into their new state of the art Death Star.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders have more than a few issues, including at the linebacker position. Bringing in a versatile guy like Isaiah Simmons from Clemson would give them help at not only linebacker, but also safety, as he is one of the more versatile defensive players in this draft class.
