2020 NFL Mock Draft: Washington Redskins land Chase Young
By Brad Weiss
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a big question to answer this offseason, and that is whether or not Jameis Winston is going to be their quarterback in 2020 and beyond. Winston currently leads the NFL in passing yards, and is on the cusp of a 5,000-yard season, but he is also a turnover machine.
If there is any coach who can get the best out of him it is Bruce Arians, and it remains to be seen whether or not the veteran head coach will bring Winston back for another year. Maybe they can bring him back on the franchise tag and see if he can cut down on the interceptions, as he is throwing them at an incredible pace in 2019.
Looking at the other side of the ball, Tampa Bay needs some help in the secondary, and may want to target a guy like C.J. Henderson from Florida in the first round. This guy is one of the better cover corners in this draft class, can make plays on the ball, and is one of the more NFL-ready defensive backs coming out this season.
The Oakland Raiders will once again hold multiple first round picks in the NFL Draft in 2020, this after selecting three times in 2019. With their second of two first round picks, the Raiders will once again target a player from Clemson, bringing in star wide receiver Tee Higgins with the No. 18 overall selection.
Last year, the Raiders went the Clemson route a bunch, and hit on those players, as Hunter Renfrow and Trayvon Mullen have been outstanding as rookies. Clelin Ferrell has also played well as of late, so it would not surprise me if Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden take two players from one of the better programs in college football once again in 2020.
The Raiders have struggled with the wide receiver group all season long, as they have battle both injuries, and inconsistent play. They have no true WR1 at this point, and Higgins could be that guy, sending Tyrell Williams to the WR2 spot, and with Renfrow a dominant slot player, Derek Carr would have three very good weapons atop the depth chart at the position as they head to Vegas.
