3. Burnley beat Manchester United

The later game on Saturday sees Manchester United travel to Turf Moor to play Burnley. The Red Devils had a fantastic win on Boxing Day as they crushed Newcastle 4-1 and they will hope to produce a similar display on the road.

That could be difficult for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as they’ve only managed to win two matches away from home this season. Obtaining a third this weekend could be difficult against a Burnley side who are notoriously stubborn at home.

The Clarets have only conceded 13 goals in nine home games this season. That stat doesn’t sound great but when taken into account that 7 of those goals came from Liverpool and Manchester City then it’s much more reasonable. Burnley will make this tough for Manchester United and it will be up to Solskjaer to work out how to break down Sean Dyche’s side.

United were absolutely toothless in their last away match at Watford. Their forward play was predictable and it only gave the Hornets more belief that they could go on and win. Their only bright spark in that performance was Paul Pogba. The Frenchman came on and provided much-needed energy as well as some attempts on goal.

That kind of enthusiasm and desire is what United need when they’re playing away from home. At Old Trafford, they have a strong backing that can help them when they’re struggling to find inspiration but on the road, they cannot rely on this.

That means Solskjaer needs to do a better job of getting his players psyched up for a game like this. They performed brilliantly away in the Manchester derby but against lesser opposition, they’ve struggled to get going.

Sean Dyche will know this and make sure his team are set up to frustrate United firstly and then capitalize on any counter-attacking opportunities or set plays. This game will be a very close run thing but Burnley will come out on top with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Chris Wood goal.
