Minnesota Timberwolves: Start making KAT happy

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis are the most notable names to watch if their teams don’t win it all in 2020, but leave it to the Minnesota Timberwolves to already have to worry about a star player wanting out in the first season of a five-year max deal.

Whispers are already circulating that Karl-Anthony Towns is unhappy with his situation in Minnesota, and it’s hard to blame him. But even if the Wolves currently hold all the power, and even if a star asking for a trade this early in a five-year deal would be unprecedented, the front office should be doing everything in its power to make sure KAT is a happy camper.

You want us to bring your buddy D’Angelo Russell to join you? Done. You want to stay the current course with this roster? Probably not ideal, but whatever you say, big guy. You love Starbursts, but only the pink and red ones? ORANGE AND YELLOW ARE NOW DEAD TO US. Unless the Timberwolves are ready to undergo (and botch) another rebuild after trading yet another disgruntled superstar in his prime, they need to do everything in their power to convince Towns he’s in the right place.
