Orlando Magic: Find some damn offense

Maybe this is unfair, since the Orlando Magic technically aren’t a “winning team” at 14-19, but of the 16 teams currently residing in a playoff spot, they have the worst offensive rating — by far — at 104.2 points per 100 possessions.

That figure ranks 26th in the NBA overall, with only the Warriors (9-25), Knicks (9-24), Bulls (13-21) and Hawks (7-27) below them. Suffice it to say that’s really not good for a team that was hoping to build on its surprising playoff berth last year.

Nikola Vucevic has taken a step down from his awesome All-Star season last year, Terrence Ross is more sporadic than ever, Aaron Gordon‘s scoring has fallen off a cliff and for as efficient as Evan Fournier has been, this team desperately needs more of it, ranking 28th in field goal percentage and 27th in 3-point percentage. Whether it’s on the trade market, Gordon taking on a bigger role or drawing up more imaginative sets, the Magic need to breathe some life into a lifeless offense.
