2020 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with playoffs looming
By Brad Weiss
With their third and final first round draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins should turn their focus to the defensive side of the ball. After grabbing their new franchise quarterback early in round one, and then adding a weapon in the passing game later, they should wrap up the first round with one of the better cornerbacks in this draft class.
CJ Henderson has been an absolute beast for the Florida Gators this season, helping them to their best record in almost ten years. Henderson was a big reason why the Gators not only won the Orange bowl this season, but also why they won 11 games for the first time since the 2012 season.
With the way the Dolphins played this season with very little assets on both sides of the ball, you can only imagine what head coach Brian Flores is going to be able to do with talent in 2020. Remember, this was a team that wasn’t supposed to win two games this season, but somehow they were able to rack up five victories, including an impressive road when in New England in Week 17.
The Seattle Seahawks are once again one of the better teams in the NFC this season, but they have a long way to go if they are going to reach the Super Bowl. On Sunday night, in the final game of the 2019 NFL regular season, they were beaten at home by the San Francisco 49ers, who locked up the number one overall seed in the NFC.
The week before, the Seahawks lost a tough one to the Arizona Cardinals, and in that game they lost three of their starters. This past week, they brought back former star running back Marshawn Lynch, who was needed due to the fact that Chris Carson was lost for the year in Week 16.
Looking at this roster, they still need to bring in somebody who can replace Earl Thomas, and Xavier McKinney from Alabama could be that guy. McKinney is the kind of ball hawk safety that this team is missing right now, and if they can shore up their issues on the defensive side of the ball, they still have one of the better quarterbacks in all of football in Russell Wilson.
