The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into the playoffs moving in the right direction, as they locked up the Number 2 overall seed in the AFC this past weekend. Of course, it took a miracle loss by the New England Patriots for the Chiefs to get the number two seed, but now they will get to host at least a divisional round game in the postseason.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been great this season, but he, like Aaron Rodgers, has not played an MVP level. Still, this is a Chiefs offense that is humming right now, and with how good their defense has been in recent weeks, the rest of the AFC should be put on notice.

With their first round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chiefs have to bring in somebody who can help them in their run defense, as that has been the biggest weak link on this defense this season. Bringing in a guy like Oklahoma’s Neville Gallimore would help bolster their defensive line tremendously, as they look to improve that side of the ball, which has been an issue in recent years.

The New Orleans Saints may be the hottest team in the NFC heading into the playoffs, and by locking up the No. 2 seed in the NFC, they are going to at least host a divisional round game. Quarterback Drew Brees has once again beaten Father Time, and is playing some of the best football we have seen him play in recent years.

In the 2020 NFL draft, the Saints should look to bring in an edge rusher to help bolster the defensive side of the ball. This is an offense that is downright elite, and if they can get the same kind of effort out of their defense moving forward, there is no reason why Brees can’t win another Lombardi Trophy before he decides to retire.

Heading into the playoffs, the Saints have to be considered the team to beat in the NFC, especially with the way Brees has been playing since returning from injury. Overall, the NFC is the better conference in football this season, and if Brees can navigate that, he has a great shot at reaching the mountain top for the second time in his career.
