Miles Sanders, Boston Scott will be difference-makers vs. Seahawks

It won’t be easy for the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Seattle Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend, but Miles Sanders and Boston Scott can make a difference.

With the NFL regular season in the books, only 12 teams are left playing for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy down in Miami. One of those teams still in the mix to get to the Super Bowl are the Philadelphia Eagles. While they are the least likely team to get to Hard Rock Stadium, they do host the Seattle Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend. Will they do enough to advance?

Though neither team is particularly healthy, there are a few players of note to watch in this game, ones who can be seen as difference-makers who can help their team advance to the divisional round outside of the quarterback position. Andy Holloway of The Fantasy Footballers likes Eagles running backs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott in this win-or-go-home ball game for Philadelphia.

Along with Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett, Holloway has chosen these three players as his picks for the Seattle at Philadelphia NFC Wild Card game in The Fantasy Footballers’ Beat The Ballers contest. Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright all picked three players from three different Wild Card games. Your job is to pick better non-quarterbacks to Beat the Ballers.

Opting to go with Sanders and Scott on the Philadelphia side in this game is interesting. Overall, the Eagles offense is grossly devoid of talent entering the postseason. Who exactly will starting quarterback Carson Wentz be throwing the ball to? He has two trustworthy tight ends in Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, but if Philadelphia wins this game, it’ll have to be a low-scoring affair.

That means head coach Doug Pederson will likely opt to lean on Jim Schwartz’s defense and play a good, old-fashioned ground-and-pound game. All the while, that should lead to plenty of fantasy points for Philadelphia’s running backs in Sanders and Scott.

Of course, we still don’t know what Playoff Carson Wentz has in store for us. He could be great, a total disaster or somewhere in between. All we know is Philadelphia isn’t going to win a barn-burner should they advance. With that in mind, look for Sanders and Scott to be a big reason the Eagles end up winning should they knock off Seattle at home on Sunday evening.
