NFL DFS – FantasyDraft Best Plays – Tight End

Core Plays

Jared Cook ($9.3k)

Next up for the Saints stack comes Cook, who may just be my favorite play of any in this game. The 6-foot-5 downfield mismatch has been a scoring machine as of late, collecting seven touchdowns in as many games since Week 11. He and Brees are white-hot after a slower start to the season, something I expect to continue as New Orleans makes their Super Bowl push. Minnesota has fared well this year at suppressing damage done by the tight end position (nineth-best against TEs), but their 84 receptions allowed is tied for seventh-most in the league.

Dallas Goedert ($10.8k)

Even when Zach Ertz has been on the field, Goedert has been a viable fantasy asset this season (10th-most FPPG of any TE in 2019) thanks to Philly’s tendency to heavily utilize a two-tight-end approach. With Ertz now dealing with back and rib injuries, Goedert has taken on a large share of the passing game, drawing 22 targets over his last two games. Ertz is a coin flip to suit up for this weekend’s showdown with the Seahawks, but even if he’s active, it’s hard to wonder how much he’ll actually play. On just a four-game slate, Goedert is a safe pick, especially in cash games.

Value Plays

Joshua Perkins ($5.6k)

Unlike Goedert, Perkins becomes usable only if Ertz is forced to sit this one out. As I just mentioned, the Eagles love to use multiple tight ends to find openings underneath the coverage, something Perkins benefitted from this last week, reeling-in four passes for 50 yards and a score. He’s far from a safe option, but at just $5.6k, he’s a great DFS dart-throw and opens up a nice chunk of salary to fit some of these other stars in your lineup. Seattle has been eviscerated by tight ends this season, surrendering the third-most fantasy points to the position.
