NFL DFS: FantasyDraft best plays for the divisional round
NFL DFS – FantasyDraft Best Plays – Wide Receiver
Core Plays
Tyreek Hill ($14.9k)
With the best defensive matchup on the board and most upside of any non-QB, Hill becomes the top play on this weekend’s slate. We’ve seen the 25-year-old mix in some mediocre stat lines with some monster games, but this is a spot where he can truly erupt. On the season, Houston’s secondary has surrendered the seventh-most receiving yards to opposing wideouts and has now become even more depleted by injuries. 150-plus yards and a pair of touchdowns isn’t out of the question for the speedster.
Adam Thielen ($11.7k)
The matchup here is tough, as the 49ers’ secondary led by Richard Sherman has been a stay-away spot for most WRs in DFS. However, Thielen fared well last weekend in a shadow date with Saints’ top cover corner Marshon Lattimore, hauling-in seven balls for 129 yards. Unfortunately, he tweaked his ankle in practice this week, but if I were to guess, he’ll be out there in a win-or-go-home scenario. He’s the most reliable set of hands on Minnesota’s roster and is still relatively cheap.
Deebo Samuel ($10.7k)
Another player on the other side of this game whose price point is still probably too low is Samuel, coming off an eight-game span where he’s averaged 17.2 FPPG. He’s unquestionably outperformed Emmanuel Sanders ($10.6k) in terms of consistency and tends to draw lighter coverage operating mainly from the slot. The Vikings’ defense was at peak performance against the Saints last weekend, but they’re still struggling to suppress enemy wideouts, ceding the eighth-most FPPG (38.4) to the position on the year.
Value Plays
Will Fuller ($10.3k)
He’s no sure bet to return from his three-week absence this weekend against the Chiefs, but initial reports out earlier in the week were than he’s “expected” to be back. If that’s the case, he makes for an optimal GPP play as a player at just over $10k with loads of upside. He’s about as boom-or-bust as they come, but when he’s on the field, he adds an entirely different element to Houston’s offense. They’ll need him to come up with some big plays if they want to keep up with KC.
Allen Lazard ($9.3k)
Although Davante Adams ($14.7k) is the clear-cut No. 1 target for Rodgers, Lazard began to build himself a decent rapport with his QB over Green Bay’s final few games of the regular season. In his most recent contest versus Detroit, he turned eight targets into four receptions for 69 yards and a score. If you think Adams is going to draw most of the Seattle secondary’s attention, Lazard is a fine dart-throw at this price.
