3. Re-Sign Anthony Harris

After years of struggling to find a viable running mate for Harrison Smith, the Vikings finally gave Harris a full opportunity this year. All he did was tied for the league with six interceptions, tally 11 pass breakups and register 60 total tackles during the regular season, then add a key interception of Drew Brees in the playoff win over the Saints.

Pro Football Focus was also high on Harris’ work this year, grading him out as the No. 2 safety in the league.

Harris who went undrafted in 2015, has come out nowhere to become one of the NFL’s top ball hawks. But he led the country in interceptions in 2013 at Virginia with eight, so his nose for the ball is actually nothing new. A torn labrum in his shoulder was discovered before the 2015 Senior Bowl, limiting his ability to work out pre-draft and leading to him being undrafted.

Harris has made himself a lot of money this season. The Vikings have to make room to bring him back, as hard as it might be do sitting right up against the cap as they are. Speaking of making some cap space…
