4. K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU edge defender

The top two edge defenders in the 2020 NFL Draft are currently Chase Young and A.J. Epenesa (if he declares). After those two, it’s tough to find a consensus for the third edge spot. One of the names thrown out there is K’Lavon Chaisson. He tore his ACL at the beginning of the 2018 season, and people wondered what he would do in 2019 off of a major injury.

Chaisson has 6.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss so far in the 2019 season, which aren’t insane numbers. However, part of that needs to be attributed to shaking off a little rust getting back into game action. Chaisson has plenty of speed and bend around the edge, while also working well in space as a sam linebacker. He draws Clemson tackle Tremayne Anchrum this week (a Senior Bowl attendee), who has a big frame. However, if he can use his speed and quickness effectively, he can get to Trevor Lawrence and make impact plays.

5. Tee Higgins, Clemson wide receiver

We just talked about how Fulton has to guard Tee Higgins on Monday night, and now we get to Higgins and his game. Higgins has caught 56 passes for 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. He has the size and speed to dominate down the field with strong hands and the ability to win above the rim. Higgins still needs to develop as a route runner, but he has good hip flexibility and is a good enough athlete to improve in that area. Higgins will draw Fulton and freshman phenom Derek Stingley in the title game. If he finds success against those two, it’s hard to imagine him escaping the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
