NBA Trade Deadline 2020: 5 trades to make the Miami Heat a contender
By Ian Levy
1. Swinging for the fences with the Kings
This trade may be the most far-fetched of the options here but could provide the most potential upside for the Heat. Dedmon has made clear he would like a trade out of Sacramento and rumors have already popped about Bogdanovic who is headed for restricted free agency and, potentially, a deal that’s larger than the Kings would like to play. Bogdanovic is a young and versatile scorer who can handle and create for himself but also space the floor the team’s other threats. Dedmon might be a slight downgrade as a stretchy big but he’s still a threat from the outside and a far superior rim protector to Olynyk, helping to give their second-unit lineups a different feel.
Winslow is an odd fit in Sacramento, not the wing shooter they may ultimately need, and he’d need to take the ball out of De’Aaron Fox’s hands at least somewhat. But he’d also be a defensive upgrade and could be an interesting longer-term fit when you consider that he doesn’t need to score to be effective, something that could be useful as Hield, Bagley and Fox continue their development.
