4. Taj Gibson

Like Ellington, Taj Gibson is wasting away on a Knicks team that’s heading nowhere fast, even after showing some recent signs of improvement under interim coach Mike Miller.

Averaging just 16.4 minutes per game, the 34-year-old has seen his role fluctuate almost on a near night-to-night basis. He’s only topped 25 minutes four times this season, and New York already has about seven power forwards anyway.

Though his 5.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game hardly leap off the page, he can still be an effective two-way big in the right role, especially on a more competitive team. He’s shooting 51.5 percent from the field, and even in his twilight years, he can still provide a useful blend of rebounding and interior defense off the bench.

Gibson is only on the books for $9 million this season, and his $9.5 million salary for next season is non-guaranteed, making him another buy-low candidate on the Knicks that suitors should keep on their radars.
