NFL DFS – FantasyDraft Best Plays – Quarterback

Core Plays

Patrick Mahomes ($14.9k)

This is no secret here. Mahomes is the obvious pay-up option on this two-game slate after posting a ludicrous 41.1 fantasy points mostly within a two-quarter span. Thanks to the young gunslinger, the Chiefs were the first team to score touchdowns on six consecutive drives in a playoff game since the Packers did it back in the 2007 Divisional Round. He’s by far the safest option with Aaron Rodgers ($11.9k) and Jimmy Garoppolo ($10.9k) both enduring tough matchups on the NFC side. Tennessee has come out in recent weeks with superb game plans to limit Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady, but they’ve allowed the 15th-most fantasy points per game to QBs this season and I’m trusting Mahomes and his weapons to prevail.

Value Plays

Ryan Tannehill ($10.9k)

With so many studs at each position this week, you can make a fair argument that it’s smarter to pay down at the quarterback spot in order to plug in some more of those bigger names. Tannehill comes into this weekend tied for the lowest price of the four starting QBs, but carries the most upside of anyone not named Patrick Mahomes. He’s a big reason Tennessee has made it this far and aside from his matchup against the Patriots in the Wild Card Round, he’s posted at least 17.9 fantasy points in all but one game since taking over as the team’s starter in Week 7. The Titans will lean heavily on their ground game, but in a potential high-scoring game, Tannehill could find himself slinging it a bit more than usual.
