DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Luka Doncic ($12,400): Yep, the price it outrageous. It could be even higher. Luka put up 64 DraftKings points on Portland the first time around. He likely does it again. It’s apparent that not many teams can stop him. Portland is one of those ones that doesn’t even come close. I expect another 60+ here.

Trae Young ($10,200): What hamstring problem? Trae just grew a new one and went out and ravaged the Suns on Tuesday. He is proving that he can take over a game at times, which is a dangerous thing for the Hawks. The Spurs aren’t as good as the Suns team that Trae just lit up. I wont predict that he goes for 60 again, but 50 seems likely.

Honorable Mention:

Kyle Lowry ($8,800): If this game stays close, Lowry could come up with a big stat line. He put up 45.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting, but he also played 40 minutes. Can I get that kind of production in 30? Lowry is one of those guys that just seems like he should be better than he is. That was even more apparent when VanVleet and Siakam were out. Lowry didn’t take over. I’m not sure how high the upside is.

Ja Morant ($8,000): We know how high the upside is here. Morant is just scratching the surface of what he can do. He reminds me a lot of Trae Young last year. He struggled to get acclimated early, but come January, he kept getting better and better. Morant is averaging 40 DraftKings points per game in January. He gets a very favorable matchup with the Cavs tonight, so he shouldn’t have any issues hitting value here.

Malcolm Brogdon ($7,000): Brogdon made his return against this (almost) same team on Wednesday and put up 37 DraftKings points. Minnesota is arguably worse since then with Teague being traded to Atlanta. I don’t see a ton of upside with Brogdon, but the floor is high against an increasingly worse Minnesota defense.

Dark Horses:

Kendrick Nunn ($6,200): The cold spell may be over for Nunn. He dropped 48.25 on The Spurs on Wednesday. The Thunder are a solid team against guards, but can we count on Paul locking down Nunn? I wouldn’t bet on it. This price makes me a touch nervous, but Nunn is more than capable of hitting value here.

Darius Garland ($5,100): Garland may not have the upside of Sexton, but he is far more consistent. Garland has at least 5.5x value in all but one game this month. The ceiling is mid 30’s, but when he’s constantly hitting 30, that’s nearly 6x value for a floor. I’m a big fan of Garland at the price in this matchup.

De’Anthony Melton ($4,700): Melton is getting to a price that’s tough to pay for a backup, but he’s playing about half the game backing up both guard positions. He has three straight games of more than 28 DraftKings points. That’s about his ceiling, but are we really going to complain about that? He’s blowing past 6x value with relative ease.
