Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on January 17 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Minnesota at Indiana, Chicago at Philadelphia, Washington at Toronto
8 p.m. ET: Cleveland at Memphis, Miami at Oklahoma City
8:30 p.m. ET: Atlanta at San Antonio
9:30 p.m. ET: Portland at Dallas

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Luka Doncic (vs POR – $12,400 on DK; $11,000 on FD): Luka is coming off another big game and without Porzingis, there’s really no limit to his powers. It’s a high salary hit you’re getting guaranteed value against a great matchup and a high ceiling. There’s enough lower value on this night to make up the salary difference when rocking with Luka.

Domantas Sabonis (vs MIN – $8,600 on DK; $9,000 on FD): Sabonis is a guaranteed double double and the Timberwolves offer nothing defensively. The recent trade makes them worse but it has the uncertainty setting in. Plus, they’re still without Towns. Sabonis just had a monster game against them and there’s no reason he can’t do it again.

Bam Adebayo (at OKC – $8,200 on DK; $8,300 on FD): If Adams and Noel don’t play, Bam is going to have a field day. He’s already a tough out for any opponent but the OKC front court is weak defensively without the their two centers. A triple double is a real possibility for Bam in this one if one or both remain out.

Ja Morant (vs CLE – $8,000 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Ja is becoming more of a threat each night as the Grizzlies are playing some great basketball. This is an easy matchup against a weak Cavaliers team. The points and assists should certainly be there and it’s possible the rebounds are there as well given how often the Cavaliers typically miss. There’s good value across the Grizzlies board in this game.

Pascal Siakam (vs WAS – $7,900 on DK; $7,600 on FD): Siakam maybe isn’t quite what he was prior to his injury but he’s coming around and this is certainly a matchup he can take advantage of. The Wizards remain terrible and now the frustrated is really starting to set in. The Raptors are getting healthy and returning to form. Siakam is at a great price as well.
